The Grounds
The Patio
The garden is equipped with 8 metal sunloungers with cushions and 4 metal drinks tables, a portable barbecue and a large teak dining table which extends to seat up to 12, with 12 chairs. The large parasol was too large and is currently being replaced. There is also a small set of swings and a large pond.
CHILDREN MUST BE SUPERVISED OUTSIDE.
The Swimming Pool
Completed May 2008 this 12 x 6m salt water pool is surrounded by a 3m wide sun terrace the length of the pool and a 4m width dining terrace under the shade of the cider apple tree. Plenty of space for barbecues and lots of fun. The pool is heated by a "pompe a chaleur" which takes heat from the air. It requires a minimum consistent air temperature of 10 oC to work and therefore should be heated end of April - end of September to 28 oC.
When the pool is not heated due to reduced air temperature, it is not available for swimming as it is 'hibernated' to keep the water clean, fresh and unfrozen over the winter.
The pool is 1.2m - 2m deep. It has an electric cover. PLEASE DO NOT WALK ON THE COVER IT IS NOT SAFE.
IT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR NON-SWIMMERS OR FOR DIVING. CHILDREN MUST BE SUPERVISED.

The Tennis Court
Built Autumn 2007, this porous concrete court was constructed by Msr Jaques Simeon, who has built courts at Roland Garros and Queens Club to name-drop just a few! The surface is fast and high bouncing and can be played on 20 minutes after rain. It is set in a picturesque part of the garden, by the little orchard and just in front of the lily pond. Don't let the croaking toads put you off on match point!
There are some old tennis rackets and balls at the house but you are advised to bring your own if you play competitively.
The Lily Pond
A tranquil lily pond surrounded by lush planting, willows and fruit trees. There are fish in the pond, although they are very shy, and patience and lots of food is needed to make them appear.
The pond is NOT protected and is up to 1metre deep in places. Young children MUST be supervised.

Garden Swings
Garden swings for children - over 7s recommended. In the background is the farmhouse next door. It is oriented away from La Hannetot and is not overlooked. CHILDREN MUST BE SUPERVISED.
End Elevation
The end of the house has a romantic rose arch during summer and other flowering shrubs (lavenders, paeonias, rock rose, honeysuckle) almost all year round, including white 'snowballs' of Viburnum in the Spring, followed by large clumps of Helianthus salicifolius (tall, small sunflowers), in the autumn
